Rhyme of the Dusk Iris - Bang Zhi Yan Yun - 傍芷延韵

Description

This is a Tea we particularly enjoy in special occasions, we love sharing it with other Tea lovers as it is a Tea full of flavor with such a pleasant aroma that fills the room once you start brewing it.

This Tea comes from the famous Bulang Mountain more specifically from “Man Mu old village” a place known for its abundance of old ancient trees, combined with old tree material from Myanmar Borderlands.

Just after the Spring Festival in 2018, Xi Shuang Banna had a pleasant climate with the perfect temperature and humidity to make Shu Puer Tea. Our friends at Shan Tea decided to do a mixed vintage fermentation blend combining the Man Mu material with a batch of 2017 fermented Old Tree material from Myanmar Borderlands, the result is this elegant and eloquent Tea.

As we said it before, this is an elegant, complex and eloquent Tea. Each infusion has a different profile and its up to the standards of the most demanding Tea connoisseurs. As soon as it was launched it became a success and soon was over, we managed to secure some stock as we love to share and drink ourselves.

Tasting Notes:

Tasting this Tea is not a pleasure of one single infusion, every infusion has a very particular taste, therefore don’t be surprised to find a cup very different from the last. Its aroma remind us of a very clean tea with mushrooms, hits of caramel and even some roasted meat and malty fragrances. Its taste really reminds us of dark chocolate, Chinese herbs, with a good round body. Higher bitterness and medium astringency.

All of our Puer have a batch sticker to guarantee the authenticity, limited quantity and traceability of the material. Keep it if you are planning on storing the tea for future investment or consumption.

Drinking Tips:

  • This is a Tea for those who like to explore different terroirs and more complex teas.
  • Perfect to share with other Puer connoisseurs and appreciate all this Tea has to offer.
  • Try different infusion quantities and steeping times, as you can adjust its flavor.
  • Available in full cake form or pieces broken from cakes that we pack in cans of 50grs.
  • For a better infusion experience and long-lasting flavors, try to break the cake onto thin even pieces, avoid making it into dust.

Notes for Tea Nerds:

* All of our product pictures for the Tea soup features the middle infusion combined. (if the tea can be infused 8 times, then we combine 4th-5th to take the picture)

* All of our product pictures featured a bit more quantity of tea leaves infused, that’s because we have heavier palate and we are drinking the teas as we take the pictures 😉

* The number of infusions  for each product consider infusions with easily recognized taste, we do not count infusions that have its taste already fading away; said this each tea can be infused more times if desired. Also many of our teas can be boiled after being infused.
